Our friendly surf instructors are CPR, First Aid and Lifeguard certified to make sure they deliver the best surf lesson experience possible. We are located in Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii and ready to teach you how to surf. PRIVATE SURF LESSON

One on One Instruction
Private surf lessons are the best way to learn how to surf! With one on one attention, you get to learn at your own pace. Throughout the entire surf lesson, your instructor is right by your side, giving you helpful tips to increase your surfing ability. A great option for small children, non-swimmers or advanced surfers.

Semi-Private surf lessons are perfect for couples, friends and children. With a low 2:1 student to instructor ratio, you get the same personalized attention that you receive with a private lesson. Learning to surf is always a blast when you have someone to share the experience with, so grab a friend and get ready to get wet!

What to Expect…
Expect to get wet and have FUN! All surf lessons are 2 hours long and held all year round here in Kona, Hawaii. We provide surfers with soft-top longboards, rash guards, booties and expert instructors. Surfers should bring a swimsuit, towel and sunscreen. Showers and storage units are provided on location as well as temporary parking for loading and unloading your gear.
Surf lessons begin at our surf shop which is located directly across the street from the best surfing beach in Kona, Hawaii. Students will attend an on land demonstration where an instructor will go over important safety tips such as how to wipe out and surfing etiquette. Next, the instructor will explain how to lay down, paddle and stand up on a surfboard properly. Students will practice standing up on the surfboard on dry land first. Once comfortable, surf lesson students will practice their skills surfing waves in the warm blue waters of Kahaluu Bay. While in the water, surf instructors will help students catch waves by letting them know when to paddle and when to stand up. We even give you a little push if you need it so you are guaranteed to catch some waves!
WARNING! Surfing may lead to laziness at work, excessive daydreaming and a complete disregard for shoes. Mahalo!
Kona Surfboard Rentals

We have one of the largest selections of surfboard rentals in Kona, Hawaii. For your Big Island surfing adventure, choose from a wide selection of soft-top and epoxy surfboards. We have surfboard rentals for every skill level and surf condition.
Need help to choose a board? No problem. Our experienced professionals will help you choose a surfboard that will fit your experience level. Once outfitted with a board, our surf guides will show you how to get in and out of the water and surf the area safely. If you are traveling to another surf spot, we will even provide you with free roof racks and help you attached the surfboards to your car.
Traditional Longboard Surfboards
We have a huge selection of NSP longboards to choose from. Our longboard surfboards range from 9ft all the way up to 11ft in length and come in stop-top and epoxy models. Take out one of our nose rider longboards and hang ten or try out some of our high performance longboards when the surf gets big!
Soft-Top Surfboards
Like the popular “boogie boards,” we have a line of soft boards that are perfect for beginners, and folks that can’t take a good bonk on the head. Just kidding. Soft boards are a safe and easy way to get in the water and catch a wave.

Epoxy Surfboards
For the intermediate and advanced surfer, we offer a huge selection of epoxy surfboards for rent. Come check out our full line of NSP epoxy surfboards ranging from 5ft all the way up to 11ft in length. We also carry fish and quad surfboards too!
